Answer by Compgeek789
That depends on which browser you are using, any Google addons that you have on said browser and who owns the Texas Hold’em Poker application. My best guess is to use Mozilla FireFox and get rid of any Google addons you have, and turning up the Privacy Settings, depending on if it is a popup or something else.

Texas Hold Em Poker Tips – Trusting Your Instincts

In Texas Hold Em Poker, you need to trust your instincts and go where they are telling you to go. If you can’t follow your instincts then you really have nothing. Because of the very nature of the game, you’ll never ever really know what cards are where before they are laid down on the table. This very essence of the game makes your instincts one of the most powerful weapons to win. How many times have you been playing a pot but have pulled out, only to find later on that you really had him beat. How many times have you said to yourself “I knew I had him, I wish I had of followed through!” A players instincts is what separates the boys from the men, the amateurs from the pros in this cut-throat game.

Your instincts aren’t make believe. They aren’t a plain figment of your imagination. They are real and they exist to serve. Your instinct is grown and developed through knowledge and experience, things you have read, learnt, seen, experienced. Games you have played, even games you have just watched (like WPT on TV), recounts of experiences from other players; they all contribute to what your instincts are. The best Texas Hold em Poker tips aren’t worth a dime if you don’t have instincts. The best players in the world all have carefully fine-tuned, sensitive instincts that serve them every game.

Part of developing your instincts is by getting a feel for the game. If you are ever going to win at poker, you need to have enough courage to take a risk and make a punt. The key is to not do this blindly but do it based on your feeling of a situation. Timing is everything. When your timing is right you can make a move on your opponent. The key point to Texas hold em poker is that you don’t need the best hand to win. You just need to be in the game. You can pick up a lot of pots, stealing blinds and what not, just by following your gut feeling and doing it with heart.

Your instincts are one thing. You need to have the courage, the faith, the whatever you want to call it, to trust yourself, trust your gut, trust your instincts and follow through. The next time you feel right down to your bone that he is bluffing, call him. The next time you feel like your completely outdrawn and aren’t going to win, fold the hand and save those last chips instead of calling him. Trusting your instincts and following them is an extremely important Texas Hold em poker tips.

Texas Hold Em Poker Tips – Versing An Aggressive Poker Player

In Texas hold em poker, the way an opponents is playing tips you off to their style of play. Style of play is described as the method in which the individual plays when they do in fact play at a pot. This is characterized, for the most part, by the way they bet. Betting is generally the biggest factor of player control that can have an outcome on the game for any given hand.

The style of play specifically refers to how the person bets. To determine their style of play you need to carefully observe their betting patterns. Here’s some questions to start you going…

- Does this person bet alot of hands?

- When this person comes into a pot, do they more often raise then call?

- Do they ever reraise the pot?

- Have you noticed they reraise to isolate themselves against another particular opponent?

- Do they often raise and reraise when they show down at the river?

- Have you noticed they tend to raise when playing middle suit connectors and mid or small pairs?

- Do they raise large amounts from their pocket cards?

I have worded these questions specially so that the more you answer yes that means the person is aggressive and the more you answer no the person is passive.

There are a couple of flavours to aggressive players. Tight aggressive players only ever play great cards like pocket pairs or cards above Jacks. When they bet they raise and reraise. Generally they raise alot because they have such good cards however sometimes they will raise just normally but intend on reraising on the flop and reraising the turn, more and more as time goes on. These players are nasty to play against and you can lose alot of chips very quickly if you aren’t careful. New Texas Hold Em Poker players usually have difficulty against this type of opponent.

Loose aggressive means the person plays almost any hand and also is constantly raising and reraising. This type of player is even harder to play against because you don’t have the benefit of ‘knowing’ he has good cards. This player could have anything and is still raising you. If you don’t ever play against this type of opponent he will constantly eat everyone’s blinds, grow his stack and become even more powerful. This player will often raise when he has worse cards to scare everyone off, and raise less on good cards to trick people into dualing him.

Texas Hold Em Poker Rules Explained Simply

In order to play Texas Hold Em, it is essential that you have a good understanding of the rules of the game. There are many books you can buy that explain these rules and there are many Internet sites where they are explained in easy to understand terms. You can also pick up knowledge of the rules by watching players and by asking questions of why and how they made certain moves. The Texas Hold em poker rules are:

1. The dealer shuffles a deck of 52 cards. The jokers are never used in this poker game. The dealer never plays the hand, so if you do not have a specified dealer, each player takes a turn. A button placed in front of the player moves around the table with each hand, signifying which player turn it is to be the dealer. When there is a dealer, the button still moves around the table, but this is to show which players have to pay the big and small blinds.

2. The two players to the left of the dealer are the ones that pay the blinds to start every hand. The player to the immediate left pays the small blind and the next player pays the big blind. This a predetermine amount of money that the players put into the pot to ensure that there is money there for one of the players to win. The small blind is equal to half the minimum bet and the big blind is the full amount.

3. Once the blinds are paid, the dealer starts dealing the cards ?one at a time to each player. Each player receives two cards face down. These are called the hole cards. The players look at their cards and make a determination of whether they will bet or fold.

4. The betting begins after each player has looked at his/her cards. This begins with the player seated next to the person that paid the big blind and continues around the table. In their turn players decide whether they will fold, bet, call or raise.

5. Once this round is over the dealer discards the top card on the deck. This is because there is always the possibility that one of the players may have seen this card and based their bets on it if it would enhance their chances of winning. Then the dealer turns over three cards in the center of the table. This is called the flop and the cards are community cards that all the players in the hand can use to combine with the cards in their hands to make winning hands.

6. Another round of betting takes place starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Players can decide to fold, call, raise of check in this and the remaining hands.

7. The dealer them turns over a fourth card, which is called the turn. Again the players bet.

8. The last card turned over by the dealer is called the River. This is the last round of the hand and the winner is decided. The player with the best poker hand wins.

Learn Texas Hold Em Poker – Read This To Learn Now

Texas Hold Em Poker takes a few minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. I’m going to go a tad further then the rules and explain the mechanics of the game.

The game begins when the deal deals two cards face down to each player at the table. These are called down cards or hole cards or pocket cards. No one else can see your cards and you don’t know anyone else’s cards on the table. The cards are delivered in a clockwise fashion around the table. There is a button, which is like a little disc, which is the dealer button. The cards are dealt starting at the first person left of the button. Each hand the button moves one player around, rotating slowly.

The first person to the left of the button, the one that gets the cards dealt to them first, is the small blind. The next player left of him is called the big blind. Both of these players must put a mandatory amount of chips in to the pot to play. Because they are forced to bet before the get cards they are ‘betting blind’. The blinds stimulate action by growing the pot the players will compete for. The big blind puts in a ‘full’ bet (whatever the minimum bet is set at) and the small blind is always half of that. Eg, the BB is 0 and the SB is 0.

Each player can do one of three things when its their turn. They can call, which is posting the amount of the big blind to play, they can raise, which is posting the amount of the big blind plus extra, or they can fold, which is throw away their cards and not play that hand anymore. If you want to raise you must bet an amount that is at least twice the size of the last raise. So if you are the first to raise it must be twice the size of the big blind. If someone raises in front of you and you want to raise him, you must at least double the amount of chips your opponent has bet. Remember in No Limit Texas Hold Em Poker there is no limit to the maximum amount you can bet. At any time you or your opponent can go all-in. All in is raising with all of your chips and is proves to be a very strong play. There’s a famous saying that goes something like ‘Players that go all in will win every time bar once’. Be careful because once your out of chips your out of the game.

After everyone has made their play, called, raised or folded, all the bets go into the middle pot and the dealer will deal the flop. The dealer will burn the first face down card of the deck which means he throws it away not to be used (its always face down so no one gets to see it). He then will turn over three cards and put them in the middle. This is the flop. These cards are the community cards and everyone gets to use them. Now, another round of betting occurs. After the flop a player has the opportunity to check if no one has bet anything in front of him. Checking is essentially not betting and not folding. You get to stay in without betting. The other choices a player has is to bet or to fold. If you bet, again, you must bet a minimum of the big blind. So after all the players have made their move, some betting and possibly other players betting more etc the dealer will pile all the chips into the pot again.

The dealer then deals one more face up card, called the turn. The turn is another community card so everyone gets to use it. Now the players have six cards (their two hole cards and the four on the board) to make their best five card hand. Another round of betting happens, again where players can check, bet, call or bet more, or fold. After the conclusion of that betting round the dealer will pile all the chips into the pot and deal one more face up card. The last community card is the river. The After the river there are the five community cards for everyone to use and each player has their own two hole cards. Here each player knows their best hand and there isn’t any wiggle room. A final round of betting will occur. Here players can check, bet, call or bet or fold, just like in the others.

After the final round of betting after the river, all the chips are piled up into the middle and there is a showdown. You and your opponents show your hole cards face up in front of you. The player who initiated the final betting round is obligated to show his or hand first. If everyone check then the player to the left of the dealer shows his cards first. The dealer then pushes the pot to the best five-card combination. Its that simple.

I hope you have been able to learn Texas Hold Em Poker from the brief explanation I have provided. These points are the crux of how the game is played. I have not gone into detail about the different hands, like what a pair, full house or flush is. You will need to learn these though if you are ever going to win Texas Hold Em Poker. You need to know which cards beat what if you are ever going to win. I hope you enjoyed this article and have heaps of fun playing this fabulous card game!

Possibly, it depends on what the website’s definition of “free” is. If you really want to play though, go to http://www.pogo.com . No money is ever exchanged unless you buy a pay account with them and you can play all you want without winning or losing any real cash.

Texas Hold Em Poker Book – The Best Poker Book

There are many Texas Hold Em Poker Book’s available both in book stores and on the internet. The biggest, and arguably the best, retailer of books online is the one and only amazon.com. Just a quick search on Amazon returns hundreds of books ranging from the general tips book, to instructional/teaching type, to full fledged strategy and odds calculations books. Deciding on which book to purchase and how much you should really have to pay to get the information you want can be a daunting task.

For most people that play Texas Hold Em Poker it is a form of recreation; a hobby that is enjoyed. If you are in this boat then most probably no matter what book you buy you will enjoy reading it and learn a thing or two. If you are extremely passionate about the game or are using your winnings as a sort of income then you may be a little more pressed to get results quickly. You might seriously want a book jam-packed with heaps of extremely useful information, so your book might be a little harder to find.

When searching for a good Texas Hold Em Poker book, look for the for the following things.

First: the title. Look at the title and ensure that it is clear, concise and is talking directly to you. If you want a strategy guide, find a book like ‘Texas Hold Em Strategy Guide’. Don’t go for a tips book or something else. The title should be targeted to what you want to achieve. This is your best asset in finding the book you want.

Second: the author. Who is the author? Are they at all reputable in the poker field? Consider punching the author’s name into google and spending a few quick moments verifying them. If the person has a wikipedia entry and is known for being in that field then they are probably very good. This isn’t a pre-requisite just a hint.

Third: search inside the book. Amazon allows you to read the table of contents of a book and also view a couple of the pages. Read the TOC and make sure that the points are talking about what you want to learn. If you want a strategy book for tournaments and you find a strategy book but the TOC reads ‘how to win online’,'winning cash games’,'how to beat your mates in the backroom of a pool hool’ then it might not be exactly what you are looking for and you may want to consider searching more.

Fourth: customer reviews. Read the customer reviews and see what other people thought about it. This is sometimes the best indicator for me. Because I’ve bought/read so many books I’m looking for more but sometimes I find a dodgy little Texas Hold Em Poker Tips book and the customer reviews say ‘not good info’,'just slapped up in a short time’,'not a quality book’ etc. When I see this I realise its not worth my money and time even bothering and I’ll probably learn more just by focusing on real practice.

Which brings me to me last point. Real practice. It doesn’t matter how good the Texas Hold Em Book you are reading is, your not going to get you good at poker just by reading. If you want to become good at poker, presumably this is why you are reading books, you really have to practice. I’m not denying, I’m even agreeing that books are extremely helpful if you want to learn poker, understand the rules, learn strategy and tips, learn about odds and whatnot. In fact, I learned most of technical stuff I know from books, but seriously you need to take all that info and then put it to use in a game. The rush of poker, the adrenaline, the quick decisions, the gut feelings are only learned by actually being in the game and doing it. As much as I love reading, I love playing poker more, so that’s where I spend my time.

Texas Hold Em Poker Tips – Playing Against Loose Players

In Texas Hold Em Poker, tips on how to play at any given time are a dime a dozen. The main issue with this is that if you go into a Texas Hold em Poker game intent on playing a certain way, or with a certain strategy, you will likely win sometimes but not all the time. Once you are up against a fairly good player that can identify your type and style, he will alter his game to crush you. In reality, you need to be able to do just that. You need to be able to identify what type of player you opponent is so you can change how your playing, your strategy that is, so as to beat that person.

At the very least, you need to be able to determine if you opponent is tight or loose. This is even more important if its the first time you’ve ever played with this person (once your in the poker scene you tend to get an idea of the characters and their prefered method of playing so sometimes you assume/know this already). The style of play specifically refers to how the person bets. To determine their style of play you need to carefully observe their betting patterns.

Loose players can be described as the players that are quite easy going in regards to what hands they play. Loose players will not only play premium cards and high pairs, but they are much more likely to play ‘lesser’ cards like middle suited connectors, small pairs, or suited pockets. Because they are playing more hands they have a better chance of taking more pots. Pure elementary – you have to be in it to win it. Loose players generally also have a bit of mystery around them because they are playing so many hands. Alot of players will think to themselves ‘I wonder what he has this time’. Good loose players can often bluff and completely get away with it.

Good Texas Hold em Poker tips will explain its imperative to know what type of player you are versing when at the poker table. You need to know the type of opponent you are playing so you can alter how your playing to counter them. There are one and a million different variations of playing poker but the key is that if you stick to only one way of playing you will surely be beaten very quickly. Change it up, change it up often, keep your opponents guessing.
