Question by Ted: What is a computer hardware oriented college major?
I’m looking at college majors an minors and am looking at doing a double major (or one minor) in something to do with creating computer hardware. I am definitely looking at doing Aeronautics but I know I would be cheating myself out of a lot of opportunities if I didn’t do something in computers cause I am very good with both hardware and software.
The only reason I don’t already know this is because it it’s more a recent decision because of being more focused on making decisions based off aeronautical engineering.

There is something called Avionics Engineering Technology, which is mostly computer-based these days. Embry-Riddle, Vaughn, and Purdue have degrees like that.
More work is done in software than in hardware. ie one hardware platform; many software applications.
General degrees involved with Computer Hardware include:
Computer Engineering
Computer Engineering Technology
Electrical Engineering
Electronics Engineering Technology
“Computer Electronics & Network Technology” (San Jose State)
