Question by Caty: Computer Terms?
So I have this assignment to define computer terms and then use them in a sentence. I’ve already done the definitions and half of the sentences, but I’m unsure about how to do the following:
cache
disk drive
megahertz
memory
sound card
video card
motherboard
That’s about a quarter of the entire list. Any ideas how to do them or where I can get help?

1) Cache: “I wish we had just about two of them cartridges that’s layin’ in that cache of ourn,” said the second man.
2) Disk Drive:
a) Fujitsu Limited today announced the release of the Nearline FC disk drive for ETERNUS storage systems, a new high-capacity, high-reliability, low-cost storage drive.
b) New Facility to Meet Projected Disk Drive Growth in IT and ConsumerDevice Segments; Thousands of New Jobs Expected for China
c) IBM changed all that with hard disk drive development starting in 1952, and first products two years later.
3) Megahertz: Industry Canada is auctioning a 105-megahertz band of spectrum, but 40 megahertz of this spectrum has been set aside specifically for new entrants into the domestic cellphone market
4) Memory: A computer with more memory is generally faster and more reliable than a machine with less, particularly when multi-tasking.
5) Sound Card: For optimal clarity of Internet calls you have to use a full-duplex sound card.

cache-don’t know
disk drive-that’s where the data and programs are stored. You have a hard drive in your computer. A diskette drive refers to the black 1.44 mb diskettes. Still used today.
megahertz-Is a measurement of speed at which the processor processes the data
memory-is R.A.M (random access memory) That’s where data is temporarily stored. It’s erased when power is turned off. R.O.M. Read Only Memory. That is permanent memory that can’t be changed.
sound card-that’s where the digital sound is converted to electrical impulses for the speakers.
video card-that creates the video image from the computer to the monitor.
motherboard-thats the main circuit board that contains the processor and all other vital components to work the other components.
Electronic books on how a computer works can help you with identifying computer parts.
